She has appeared on Wizards of Waverly Place as Stevie Nichols and on the children's series Unfabulous. She has appeared as Stella Yamada in the Disney Channel Original Movie, Lemonade Mouth[2] and in national commercials, including GM Onstar, Slim Jim and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.[3]
In high school, she has served as Student Council President and Vice President. She also founded the step team for her high school. Upon graduation, she was accepted into Clive Davis School of Recorded Music at New York University.[2]
Kiyoko's musical activities include being a member of the former girl group the Stunners,[4] formed by musician Colleen "Vitamin C" Fitzpatrick, and performing music at Los Angeles area clubs.[5] The group was an opening act for Justin Bieber's My World Tour in the Summer of 2010.
